Posted - 02 September 2013 : 11:24:57 This quick guide is designed for all of the guests who are invited to the events of our association. It contains the short version of the regulations to which our members are subjected.
It seems rather difficult to summarize years of research and study in a few lines, but what follows is a summary of the MANDATORY guidelines to participate in our events.
The reference period for our events goes from 1450 to 1490, and therefore the use of clothing and equipment which are traceable to this period of time and characterized by different features from the area of origin is imposed.
WHAT YOU NEED Civilian clothing - Shirt - Doublet - Hose - Linen underwear (optional) - Giornea or Outerwear (only young people under 18 are exempt) - Headwear ( to be worn at any time) - Belt I also recommend to wear a hood and/or a cloak.
Comfortable shoes (preferably two pairs if you have them). Bowl, cup and knife (Launch Law is in force for forks).
A bed made out of a sack filled with cloth and the like, blankets (optional) / for those who do not have a bed it is possible to sleep in a sleeping bag or on a camp bed (which must disappear in the morning). A side arm and, for those who have it, a pole weapon for personal use. Recommended protection: helmet. Using other protections such as breast and black plate, brigandine and the like is at the discretion of the group leader and the Constable.
It is not permitted to use purse and canvas scrip during all military activities.
OBJECTS AND MODERN LIFE NECESSITIES Within the area of the event it is not permitted to use modern sacks, bags or the like. These items may be used only to carry things on your arrival, but must then be left outside the area.
Modern objects are not allowed within the area. Exemptions are made for medicines or the like (e.g. contact lenses), which must, however, be concealed in appropriate bags.
Needless to say, coffee and cigarettes are banned. Those who need to drink a coffee or to smoke a cigarette and cannot avoid this practice (because their will is weak) will be allowed to eat a coffee candy or to smoke a cigarette in designated areas and at designated times. The application of these exemptions is at the discretion of the event organizer.
Mobile phones are BANNED. If you need to check it and you cannot help but being addicted to telecommunications, then you will have to leave it silent inside your bag. In the evening, before you go to bed, you may check if someone called.
CONDUCT DURING THE EVENT We all want to have fun so if there are any problems, doubts or needs please refer to your group leader. It is needless to say that the experience we are offering you is a fulltime historical and military reconstruction and, even if we will do whatever we can to make you feel at home, it does not mean that we agree on finding a compromise on rules. YOU MUST FOLLOW OUR DIRECTIONS, otherwise this experience might not need suitable for you. Every single transgression or inappropriate behavior can be punished with a simple reprimand or even by exclusion from the event. If you want to learn more on RULES OF CONDUCT visit the link (at the moment only in italian) below - http://www.famaleonis.com/ordinamento_eventi.asp
INFORMATION AND CONTACT Information concerning the specific event will be given you on invitation.
